River Kent Special Area of Conservation
The River Kent catchment affected by Nutrient Neutrality is split into two parts, one east of Kendal and the other northeast of Windermere.
The River Kent SAC falls under the planning jurisdiction of Westmorland and Furness Council and the Lake District National Park.

What is this area like?
This area’s environmental landscape is comprised of:
(99%) Inland water bodies (standing water, running water)
(0.5%) Bogs, marshes, water fringed vegetation, fens
(0.5%) Broad-leaved deciduous woodland
